Industrial Chicago Wedding at The Joinery

One of the things I take pride in the most when working with my couples is being able to document their day exactly how they want it. It’s all about being able to listen to your couple, hear what they’re saying, and make sure to communicate proper expectations for their wedding day. At the end of the day, this is one of the most special times in their whole life! We have to document it to the absolute fullest, right?! For Jamie and Dominic, getting to really enjoy their day and be stress-free was a top priority to them. They really wanted to not have to worry about anything except having fun and getting married. Sounds good to me! Their industrial Chicago wedding at The Joinery was just that, and I am so excited to share it with you.

The Joinery Chicago – Chicago Wedding Venue

The Joinery Chicago is a beautiful event space that is a perfect wedding venue for any couple. The name actually was created to symbolize the meaning of marriage. The Joinery or the “joining together of two people celebrated by their closest friends and family” (The Joinery Website). It brings together a beautiful outdoor space, an intimate space for a ceremony and reception, and tons of natural light. It is truly a unique event space and is perfect for any couple looking for a more urban and industrial-style wedding venue.

Not only is The Joinery Chicago a beautiful event space, but it also provides couples with some amazing amenities. Amenities can really be the make or break sometimes when it comes to booking a wedding venue, and let me just say that The Joinery Chicago has got ’em! Some of the amenities included when you book their space are:

  • A 2,400 SF gathering space with 800 SF skylight
  • Private/gated outdoor patio space with bar
  • Table and chair rentals
  • Various backdrops
  • Lighting + video equipment

The morning of Jamie and Dominic’s wedding was spent getting ready at The Robey Hotel. A stunning hotel with beautiful architecture, history, and decor. It was really the perfect setting for Jamie and Dominic to spend the morning of their wedding. Jamie and Dominic ended up doing a touching first look that had me wiping a few tears behind the camera. Don’t worry though, I come equipped with tissues!

Since we had time before the ceremony, we were able to wander throughout the city for some gorgeous wedding portraits. This is all thanks to our perfectly curated wedding timeline that we made prior to their wedding day. We seriously would be lost without this! If you want to read more about how to create your own wedding timeline, click here. We made sure to hit some of Chicago’s best photo locations such as the Chicago Riverwalk, the Board of Trade, and the Wrigley Building. Thanks to the lovely trolley that Jamie and Dominic had rented out, traveling throughout the city was a breeze.

Ceremony & Reception

It wasn’t long until we made our back onto the trolley and made our way to The Joinery Chicago to get Jamie and Dominic married! The light that came into the space during the ceremony was just next-level beautiful. It’s no wonder this is such a sought-after space for weddings, it’s gorgeous!

Quickly after, the reception space at The Joinery Chicago was open and we did not hesitate to start partying. Jamie and Dominic heard some beautiful speeches from loved ones, did a celebratory cake-cutting, and even were thrown up in the air by their guests during their horah. If you ask me, I think it was the perfect ending to their wedding day.
