Brewery Wedding in Upper Peninsula, Michigan

For Phoebe and Zac’s wedding day, what mattered the most to them was spending time with loved ones and having a great time. Looking back, they wanted to remember the little moments as well as the big moments. A part of documentary-style wedding photography is being able to capture those raw, in-between, and real moments on your wedding day. While you still will receive the prompted and posed images, it’s more about documenting your day naturally rather than feeling forced. It’s an approach to wedding photography that I love to follow and was exactly what Phoebe and Zac were looking for on their big day. Portraits at Presque Isle Park & The Ceremony

We started off the day by having a beautiful first-look moment between Phoebe and Zac before taking portraits at Presque Isle Park. You have breathtaking views of Lake Superior and it honestly feels like another world out there. Phoebe and Zac’s day was filled with so much intentionality and detail. Nothing was rushed and everything played out perfectly as if their wedding day was a slow and steady celebration. From the minimalistic ceremony inside the brewery to even the moments after when Zac and Phoebe sat beside each other signing their marriage certificate. It was a day spent socializing and really enjoying each other’s company.

Reception

Phoebe and Zac had the Dia De Los Tacos food truck cater their wedding and let’s just say everything was absolutely delicious. The ceremony space quickly became the reception area where games like Cornhole and Jenga mingled with their guests. The night was filled with intimate first dances Phoebe and her dad and Zac and his mom. While it was a beautiful celebration of their love, it was also the blending of two families. Everyone came together to celebrate Phoebe and Zac on this beautiful day and it was utter bliss.
