I’m a Chicago wedding photographer who has photographed a lot of weddings at this point. I’ve gone from the heart of our beautiful city of Chicago to rural Illinois to across state borders to capture some of the most beautiful wedding days. Capturing the most unique venues and spaces and this day was no different.
Amanda and Elliot had their beautiful Society 57 Wedding in Aurora, Illinois and it was utter bliss. I had the honor of capturing Amanda & Elliot’s engagement sesh a while back too. You can check that out here! From that point on, I have been counting down the days until we were reunited to capture their wedding day. It came, it went, and I am still completely head over heels in love.
Society 57 | Aurora, Illinois
Society 57 is a beautiful wedding and event space in Aurora, Illinois. This Illinois wedding venue opened back in 2019 and has only grown in popularity since then. Society 57 was built in a restored historic building and today has hosted hundreds of events and weddings. Attached to the event space is also a coffeehouse that is also a part of Society 57. So not only are you getting a beautiful space, but for all of you coffee lovers, this can be a major bonus for you! It brings the perfect blend of historic touches and modern decor which I just love! It’s described as comfortable elegance and gives couples the opportunity to make this space truly unique. Amanda & Elliot’s Society 57 Chicago Wedding
What was most important for Amanda and Elliot was being able to capture all of the emotions from their wedding day. From the laughs to the cries, it was important to be able to remember their wedding day exactly as it was. Beautiful detailing went into making this day as special as it could be. Their to die-for color palette consisted of stunning hues of teal for the bridesmaid’s dresses along with shades of dusty orange, purple, white, and green. It was a colorful color palette that complemented each other so well and looked fabulous as we watched the ceremony space come to life at Society 57.
Love Letters & A First Look
As soon as everyone arrived at the venue, the emotions really kicked in. Amanda and Elliot decided to do a love letter exchange/first look prior to the ceremony and let’s just say, what an emotional ride. Moments like these are always such a special time for my couples so I really say live it up as much as you can. That’s also why having your own personal Chicago wedding photographer documenting these moments is so important!
Ceremony & Reception
The ceremony was held in the main event space at Society 57. In the front stood a gorgeous floral arch where Amanda and Elliot exchanged their vows to one another. In an intimate setting surrounded by their friends and family, they united as one to officially tie the knot! From there, we enjoyed a brief cocktail hour before the ceremony space was converted into their reception. It was here that tear-jerking speeches were made, dance moves were broken out on the dance floor and everyone continued celebrating Amanda and Elliot until the sun went up. Well not until the sun was up, but until really late into the night – lol. It was a beautiful night celebrating two genuine and kind people and I’m forever grateful to have been here to capture such special moments.
Kind Words From Amanda & Elliot
“Emma did a great job from start to finish. She helped with the planning process, and timeline, and kept us on track during the wedding day. Our pictures are stunning! She worked with our vision for our engagement shoot and wedding pics — they turned out exactly how we wanted! A skilled photographer was important to us and Emma delivered. I will definitely be recommending her to any of my friends looking for wedding photographers”
