Meredith and Lucas are the type of people whose love just radiates no matter what. Witnessing such a powerful, strong yet playful sort of love was a beautiful experience and everything we could have wanted for their cinematic Chicago engagement photos at Kinzie Street Bridge.
Lucas & Meredith’s Chicago Engagement at Lincoln Park
Upon inquiring about their Chicago engagement photos, Meredith and Lucas let me know what they were looking for. They wanted their Chicago engagement session to have a soft, romantic feel with a bit of an edgy, editorial, and vintage flair. Say no more! After reading these words, my mind immediately began racing as to how we could bring this vision to life.
Meredith and Lucas had a clear vision in mind for their session locations. After searching, they really wanted to shoot at Lincoln Park Zoo, more specifically the South Pond area. The great thing about the Lincoln Park Zoo is that there is a plethora of different areas to choose from. This is entirely dependent on the type of feel you want for your Chicago engagement session, of course! The South Pond area consists of a twelve-acre natural area within the Lincoln Park Zoo. Surrounding you are a plethora of native prairie and wetland plants that surround a breathtaking pond area. All within our beautiful city, the ultimate oasis.
Hand in hand, Meredith and Lucas were absolute naturals in front of the camera. They put up with all of my “eeps” and “ooos” to get the perfect shots and for that, I am grateful – lol.
Romantic and Cinematic Chicago Engagement Session
While our quick sesh at Lincoln Park’s South Pond was a bit more casual, we still needed to incorporate that more editorial and edgy element that both Meredith and Lucas wanted. With a quick outfit change to something more formal, we hit Downtown Chicago to get some more sultry moments. Oftentimes, one may think that because you ask for more “editorial” style imagery, that means that you have to be stiff and expressionless. Oh, how wrong that is though! In fact, I love being able to incorporate my documentary-style photography style even when the overall tone of the engagement session is more sultry, moody, and editorial. It adds a bit more life to your images and creates something timeless, IMO.
Kinzie Street Bridge Engagement Photos
One of Chicago’s iconic landmarks, the Kinzie Street Bridge was the perfect backdrop to embrace the beauty of Downtown Chicago. We laughed… laughed some more… and some more before ending their Chicago engagement session with a gorgeous sunset. I quickly ran home to edit these and boy… did this session give me goosebumps.
